So maybe trying to balance office crunch time and a game wasn't the best idea, but I wanted to do my best to make it work. Both because I think you are all wonderful people, and because I have such good memories of Naishou games. And just to prove I could handle it.

Well, I suppose it meant I didn't get too many posts in, but it is what it is. I'm glad I stuck it out to the end, and I ended up liking Asano as a character. If you have any questions, I will definitely try my best to answer them!

I really liked Asano, and my chief regret is that the game's two shugenja gals with pets didn't have more threads together.

1. Did Asano throw you any curveballs?

A few minor ones!
1 - Just how unsuited she was for doing anything more to a gaki than make it not wanting to enter a building, even as a shugenja!
2 - That I actually got the opportunity to use Freedom Of The Air to ward a building for the first time since I started playing 4e a decade ago XD
3 - Just how jealous she got at the end there.

2. Favorite scene?

3 favorites were trying sake with Choudai, the ritual, and late night chats with Yoshino.

3. Favorite presentation of Asano's?

The drawing of her mother for Meyo. It was the most fun to make, used a new skill, and actually said a lot about some of the hidden sides of Asano's character.

4. What's next for the tall Crane?

She wants to learn how to fight evil! Learn more about archery and combat spells and such. Assuming her plans work out to keep Yoshino close, she might just need them!

5. Asano's favorite piece someone else did?

From an enjoyment stance, Inori's story about overcoming hardship. From a personal standpoint, Yoshino's story about visiting the beach for the first time.

2. What thing from this game would you like to see in future games?

Honestly, with Naishou game, it's always about the attention to detail; You GM's are so involved and available, and the number of players is usually on the perfect range of like 15-20. So you always feel you have options for getting to know people and ask for help without being lost in the mix.

3. What thing from this game would you like to not see in future games?

It would have been nice if the main events had varied up more, even something simple as incentivizing using different skills or different approaches, maybe having an event that's longer or has certain conditions. Felt it was almost entirely on the players to make the different virtues interesting in some way.

Without Yoshino around Asano's secret trouble making would have been more... dispersed. More stealing things and sneaking around, gossiping about other things. She's a crafty troublemaker, after all.

Just how much does Asano regularly manipulate things from behind the scenes?

It's one of her specialties. Acting innocent and manipulating people into getting her way. She doesn't see it as wrong, just being a Crane and using Crane strengths. Like politics like life. And it certainly worked as a kid into getting her parents and the villagers to get her what she wanted.

Where will Asano go after the competition ends?

At this point? Back to Asahina lands. She has some soul searching to do, and she's going to be spending some time in the Asahina monasteries and with her Family figuring that out, even if she doesn't say the whole truth of what happened to them.
