[D7 EA Open] Dapper Raakun

[Kitsune Shizenko]

Shizenko had come searching before for a nice scarf for Raakun but hasn't done a follow up. The young shugenja walks the merchant district to see if her search will be fruitful this day.

"Yeah... and probably look a bit more handsome. When we get to Akagi Mori you probably find a mate... and I will have to take care of you and her."

[Asahina Asano]

Her time in the city here had been very busy, and she hadn't had much time to spend with her pet bird, Tenten.



But today she decided Tenten needed some fresh air. So she took her out, neither needing nor wanting a cage for the tiny pork-bun sized bird. Instead Tenten largely sat on Asano's shoulder, the tall willowy woman taking her time walking through the streets and letting her friend check things out. Occasionally she'd say something quiet to the bird, the animal seeming to understand it, occasionally chirping back.

It was at a certain point Ten really seemed to want to get Asano's attention, flying away from her to land gently on Shizenko's head, looking curiously down at Raakun from that perch as Asano followed after the bird the best she could.

A wild Aibou appears!

Well, not wild, really; he's actually quite tame, with his belly just a little pudgy and inkstains permanently on his fingers.

Aibou starts, then looks down.

"Well, hello, you," he says. "Whose are you?"

Raakun pointed to Shizenko. The woman had a bird on her finger and a smile on her face. The shugenja waved at the Shiba.

[Shiba Aibou]

"Excuse me, Kitsune-san," Aibou says, approaching. "I believe this is yours."

His expression is pleasant enough.

From the other way Asano followed after Ten, catching up to the flighty bird to see her land on one of Shinzenko's fingers, not chirping or anything at the moment but just starting at Raakun. Asano caught her breath, "What caught your eyes so much, hm? Oh, hello there.. Kitsune-san. Were you having a talk with Tenten here?"

She looked at the Tanuki then to the bird and to the Shiba. "Yes Shiba sama the Tanuki is my companion." Shizenko looked at Asano and smile. "This little guy is yours I suppose Asahina sama." Moving the bird towards the Asahina. "Seems that Raakun has a fan."

Raakun waved to the bird.

Asano said this in a slightly sad voice, though Ten didn't seem sad, instead giving some twitters in reply to Raakun's paw wave.

"Ah... that is a sad notion." She smiled at the tweets. "He is a friendly guy. Do you want to play with him? You can seat on his head." Shizenko told to the bird then back to the two humans. "I will be visiting your cousins land soon I will be heading to Daidoji lands."

"You've animal ken, then?" Aibou asks.

[Kitsune Shizenko]

Shizenko nodded. "Sort of... I can understand animals." The girl said with all sincerity and honesty. Her ancestors grant her the power to speak and understand animals.

[Moshi Tatsuya]

A short distance away, an industrious if rather less than honorable man in a plainer green kimono than is usual for him is overseeing... As it's developing it's too subtle and quiet to qualify as a spectacle, but after a time certain signs have taken shape and... Been affixed to several clearly befuddled peasants? But as a smiling Moshi Tatsuya shoos them out into the crowd - their signs encouraging visits to "Teitaku's Top Tea" that's "Only at the Waving Grass Tea Room" regardless of what else they do - the walking advertisements slowly warm to their task, pleased to be getting some of this "top tea" in exchange for time they were going to be walking about town anyway.

It's a bizarre, almost indescribable new thing that is being seen. And yet, it works.

[Asahina Asano]

Asano had never seen the like of the peasants with the boards attached to them. It was a great puzzle... but not one that took precedent over her friend; She'd built up a lot of trust with Tenten, which is why she was fine with her being outside like this without a cage.

She looked over to Aibou as Ten fluttered down and landed on Raakun's head, perching and looking down curiously, "As to me... I use the air kami to help translate for Tenten's sake. It's one of the first things I learned how to do with my Gift to talk with the air spirits. It's how the local priest found out I have the ability to do so, when they saw me talking to a sheep."

[Shiba Aibou]

Aibou had been about to say something when he sees the strange procession.

His eyes close and his head cocks, almost as if he has eaten something cold too quickly.

Shizenko already knew the antics of this man, she had heard it before. The woman shook her head and sighed. Then the bird has landed on Raakun's head and Shizenko covered her mouth trying to hold a laugh.

Shizenko got her composure back. " Shiba sama I was told you were a painter." Shizenko hoped that breaking a bit of the rukus around about tea houses and back to focus on a nice conversation. "Do you do commissions?"

[Shiba Aibou]

"Hm?"

It takes Aibou a moment to return to himself.

"Oh, yes, I paint, yes," he says. "As to commissions...my lord has bidden me paint, at times. More often, it is as the mood strikes."

He shrugs slightly. "Sometimes, people like to see what I do."

[Kitsune Shizenko]

"I see..." She nodded. "Perhaps you could one day show me your works."

[Shiba Aibou]

"It'd be a pleasure, Kitsune-san!" Aibou says.

What artist doesn't appreciate that kind of thing.

"I'll look forward to seeing more of yours, as well!"
