[D5 LM] Consistency (Open)

It was another day so there was another work out. He wondered if the Crane anticipated the dojo getting such consistent use during an art competition. Surely they hadn't expected many warriors to join such a thing.

It was a train of thought he mused on while he got ready and started going through forms.

Speak of a Crane, and one appears; Yoshiaki finds himself joined by Nadeshiko, the woman bowing to the place of honor before acknowledging him with a bow. "Good morning, Togashi-san. A pleasure to cross your path."

Yoshiaki was moving through forms as she walked in, a kick low and then high in rapid succession. Front leg landing. back leg kicked forward a snappy kick aimed at the imaginary opponent's chin and followed by a jumping kick.

He settles after the combo and turns toward the woman entering and bows a smile on his lips "Doji-san, I am glad to see you again. I hope you have been well."

It's the sound of rapid footfalls that causes Nadeshiko to briefly open her eyes, catching Yoshiaki in the act. There's a small hum of approval before she relaxes into her usual comfortable -- if slightly tired -- smile. "It's been a long day," She answers as if it's not still morning, "But I am happy to be here, and happier to catch you. I'd hoped to ease my mind with a little training."

Yoshiaki nodded with a small smile "yes indeed, exercise can pull many things into focus or allow the troubles of the world to fall away for a time."

"A long day though? That's an interesting thing to say before even lunch. Anything you wish to talk about? Or prefer to not focus on it?"

"I came here to escape it, yes." She laughs. "It's nothing I ought trouble you with, Togashi-san. Though I would like to ask a favor of you, if you might be so kind. Would you perhaps train with me?"

Yoshiaki bowed "of course Doji-san, I am more than happy to train with you." The small smile could be heard on his voice "though do not think it a favor, I am sure to get as much out of it as you are."

"Also if you ever do wish to talk feel free to, I would not consider it a burden." He added as he idly stretched while he waited for her to get ready.

He mostly does light stretching to keep warm as he had already been working out as she joined. He was as always bareed from the waist up in loose fitting pants, barefoot. His ki-rin over his chest would move and flex with his stretching.

"None." He replied honestly "The only form of martial training I am devoted to is hand to hand combat. I have handled a number of weapons over the years but never trained seriously with any of them."

"But I am used to sparring hands against weapons." He says to cut off any possible worries "what of you Doji-san? I assume blade work, anything else?"

The Crane rumbles with her next stretch, the warm-up beginning to pull back her face and coax out something else. "It's meditative -- like poetry -- the sort of thing you can lose yourself in."

He nods "I have heard as much. Monks rarely train in such a thing, but there have been one or two who have studied it that I have heard of. Typically if the need for such a thing arises we rely on our Mirumoto clan mates." He explains watching her stretch.

"I'm afraid I'll make a poor partner for training something like iaijutsu. But if you wish to practice general blade work I can somewhat help with that."

"I would not mind teaching you, were you so inclined. Myself -- I'm interested in seeing what you're made of..." She stands up straight, giving one last stretch before making her way to the bokken. Her hand hovers, moving over them until she finds one she wants. "...even if it's just once."

The length of wood felt a bit forgiven in his hand, he swiped it through the air a few times, feeling its balance and how it moves.

After a few practice swings he nods and turns toward her "Of course Doji-san. I did not mean to question your judgement. You are the expert here." He says with a bow.

There's a brief smile, and then: "Show me your stance." As the tide steals her back. Her anticipation is palpable -- she wants something from him, and somehow this is how she'll get it.

He settled into a basic stance with his non dominant leg back one hand held the bokken to his side and his other resting on the other end.

She paces around him, considering it, then -- Nadeshiko closes in. The woman takes her time, gently using the bokken and occasionally her hands to adjust Yoshiaki, instructing the monk on the minute differences iaijutsu demands before finding her place before him.

Her bokken -- which she's carried in her left hand this whole time -- is slipped into her obi, on the side the right would draw from. "One moment." The ribbon in her hair's pulled down and wrapped around her crown to cover her good eye. She then settles into her own stance.

"I imagine I do not need to instruct you on how to see the world from outside yourself."
