Day 3, LE - A Lesson

[Asahina Asano]

"Oh..."

Asano looked down and blushed, looking at the small sake cup. She fidgeted with it for a moment before lifting and downing the rest. Apart from a grimace, she showed no signs she regretted doing so.

"I suppose... that is just another thing I will need to learn. Especially if..."

She shook her head.

[Bayushi Choudai]

"Looking at a marriage or duty posting to a Crab Court, Asahina-san?"

[Asahina Asano]

"No. But I have a friend who is. I suppose if I were to want to visit them, I would want to learn even more. I would hate to come across as impolite when in another Clan's lands. Especially when the Crab already have so much to handle."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"I once knew a Hiruma whose wife had been born an Isawa. I could put you in touch with them to correspond. His name is Zoido, and he is a surpassingly capable bushi. Her name is Mei, and she is..."

He chuckled.

"Were she not wed to a man I respect, I might have pursued her attentions."

[We don't roll dice on expired days, but he is telling a partial truth here, depending on how perceptive she is- he does know them, but he's never been seriously interested in Mei romantically]

[Asahina Asano]

"Ah... well, I'm not even sure it's going to happen, so I would hate to act in haste... Still, I shall keep it in mind. And the other things I learned today."

Setting down the empty cup, Asano set it upside town to let people know she didn't need a refill.

"Hopefully you don't feel I've been a waste of your time."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"Asahina-san, pleasant conversation with pleasant company is never a waste of my time."

He chuckled.

"I only hope I haven't wasted yours."

[Asahina Asano]

The tall young maiden shook her head, "Oh no, absolutely not! I learned a lot, both about what I came to learn about, and other things besides. And I love learning and trying new things. So it's been the opposite of a waste, honestly."

She gave a seated bow to Choudai.

"Sometimes I wish I just had more time... and that I was a better learner. I really need to experience things a lot and practice things over and over to learn things well, but that's all the more reason I constantly want to learn. Hopefully practicing learning makes learning itself easier over time."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"We all learn differently, Asahina-san."

And some of us never learn at all.

"I am happy to have been of assistance, regardless."

[Asahina Asano]

Asano stood, smiling softly. She bowed deeply to Chodai, hands held in front of her.

"Then I will say it was my honor to have such an agreeable sensei."

She stood back straight.

"For now, I think I shall go have something sweet. Just a small something. Perhaps a little mochi while I think about things."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"Carry the Fortunes, Asahina-san."

He returned the bow.

"It's pleasant to be appreciated."
