[Bayushi Ameiko]

Ameiko was dressed and had trained, she went to appear before her charge to discuss his plans for the day.

She had scratched at the door several times, thinking perhaps her charge was simply sleeping off something, but he had never failed to answer her before.

She opened the door to have a look inside, expecting to see Gaitsu asleep, or perhaps preparing himself for the day and not having noted her call for attention.

[Fukurokujin]

The room is empty, although there are signs that it was not empty all night. Indeed, there is evidence that something of a wild time happened, and there is a cup with the dregs of a dark brown liquid on the table--as well as another cup, overturned.

The sound of footsteps behind Amieko will denote the arrival of a servant, who bows sharply at seeing the samurai.

[Bayushi Ameiko]

The Scorpion did not wheel upon the servant, she merely motioned for them to follow her in.

"Where is the occupant of this room?" she asked. "Did they leave this morning, or perhaps last night?"

She walked to the cups and took a sniff of the liquid.

[Fukurokujin]

The servant follows as bidden.

"Scorpion-sama," the boy--and he is a boy, not more than eleven--says, "Otomo-sama was in last night. But he was not alone, and he was very loud and high-pitched until he left with his companion."

The liquid smells burnt and bitter.

[Bayushi Ameiko]

"Who was his companion and where did they go?" she asked. Ameiko didn't think the drink was alcoholic, it didn't seem so. What was the nature of this...mess?

[Fukurokujin]

"A larger man, Scorpion-sama," comes the swift reply. "He had his kimono pulled up over his head like a shawl, he did. Otomo-sama got that way, too. The both of them went out the door, muttering something I couldn't make out. Sounded like 'abura bahabura iraowah.' Went out into the streets. Don't know which way after."

The liquid is distinctly non-alcoholic, indeed. More details about it will require more investigation...either rolled or narrated.

[Bayushi Ameiko]

Something was chasing then?

Ameiko shuddered, but only internally.

"This large man, was he a samurai? Perhaps a Crab?"

[Fukurokujin]

"It is possible, Scorpion-sama," the boy says. "I did not see a mon. But it seemed like they went together, not chasing, really."

[Bayushi Ameiko]

"If he returns, tell him I will be coming to see him, then", the Scorpion declared and walked to the door way. "And clean this up", she added, then she left to go search for her charge.

[Fukurokujin]

"Of course, Scorpion-sama. I was just coming to do that."

Another bow as Amieko leaves.
