[Day 4, Early Morning] Everybody's a Critic (Open)

[Bayushi Choudai]

"I am all too aware."

The thing, the thing that hurt Hatsuki, his sword seeming to pass through it more than anything else...

"But this thing, whatever it is, seemed to flee when Doji-san awoke. I don't think it cares for waking witnesses."

[Asahina Jorujo]

Jorujo gives Choudai a curious look, then shakes his head slightly.

"That it fled is a hopeful sign," he says. "It suggests that it can be harmed, of course. The question would be how, exactly. And, again, without more information, the specifics..."

Another shake of the head.

Then Jorujo pauses.

"Perhaps the Legionnaire might have some insights. Kaiu Kunio. My--er, Doji-bugyo noted having spoken with him a day or two ago. Crab...cross-train on this kind of thing, and the Kaiu are noted for knowing."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"I've barely spoken with Kaiu-san."

He frowned.

"Perhaps after I've gotten some sleep."

[Asahina Jorujo]

Jorujo nods.

"Daylight is less likely a time for...things such as have been discussed," he says. "Sleep while you can, I think. It may be a long night for you."

[Bayushi Choudai]

"We will see."

He finished the bowl of food and set it aside with a grateful bow.

"Carry the Fortunes, Asahina-sama."

[Asahina Jorujo]

Jorujo returns the bow.

"And you," he says.

And then he goes to look for scrolls...
