Kitsune Shizenko was not the only one accompanied by an animal; Horiuchi Shuriyani invoked the traditions of the Unicorn by bringing a horse into the contest. After several missteps, she presented a bejeweled display that bespoke courage in itself--for pressing on despite the faltering shows bravery.

Shosuro Hatsuki made herself up before the assembly--without mirror, trusting her skills to support her courage as she composed an interesting display on herself.

Matsu Inori produced a more traditional composition, depicting a single samurai standing against the darkness--another reference to the events surrounding gempukku, in the event.
