How much IC development is needed to buy into a tea room? Tatsuya is certainly on the brasher, "I've done my homework and I want in, right now today" side of things, but he also is smart enough to not be so crassly demanding that he makes enemies of potential friends. Can I create a thread in D4 that cuts to the chase, or should I save that for a more robust D5 thread?
Thank you!
Not a GM, but Choudai basically just barged in on Day 1 with the subtlety of a charging rhino

In the case that a day might end before RP allows you to make a post that actually uses a roll for your Amigo influence or mudslinging, is it alright to make the roll prior so it is recorded timely before the day flip, even if you haven't had a chance to RP out the situation?
I'm ok with this, because with player time schedule and gm availability, it can be difficult to align them in a timely fashion assuming you're not just running up to an NPC yelling "Support the Scorpion/Phoenix/Mantis!" Do make sure you do arrange the conversation though. The roll should be recorded in your pf before dayflip, and at least be in the right thread with the npc to make the approach. Then rp until you get to the correct point.
Same with Tea Wars?

Not really a rules question, but does the Jinbaori have hot baths of sorts?

There're rooms for scrubbing and a soaking tub in something of a side-building. Scrubbing rooms are sex-segregated; the soaking tub switches, allowing women on even days and men on odd.

From the side games thread:
"Supporters of that Amigo gain a rank of the Fame Advantage; PCs Allied to the winning Amigo additionally gain XP equal to the amount of Devotion not expended (i.e., a PC Allied to the winning Amigo with Devotion 4 and who does not expend the Devotion for the bonus to the Chosen Art roll gains 4 XP). PCs Allied to losing Amigos gain points of Infamy equal to the Devotion of their Allied Amigo."

1. Since Tatsuya is allied with Tomodachi who's not going to win, I think he's set to get a lot of Infamy. But in supporting Aibou now, if he wins, he could *also* get a rank of Fame, yes?

2. Unless Tatsuya's allegiance shifting to Aibou in the contest counts as having the Phoenix as an ally, I have nothing to lose tapping the Tomodachi devotion to help my last art roll, yes? And that's +Xk0, X = Devotion?

Unrelated to previous post, just confirming that when the Side Games thread says "During the Epilogue," that means that points must have been scored by end of D9 to count, since D10 is listed in the schedule thread as "Epilogue"?

1. That is correct. One can have both Infamy and Glory at the same time.

2. The shift does not, no. And yes, you can still tap the Devotion.

I think I have this in my head because I asked off on the side, but with epiloguing, figured it made sense to have it visible (unless it is and I missed it).

The Championship is a one year thing, like Topaz and handed over at the next competition. (or at least that makes sense.)

Ambassadors are a lifetime appointment? Until you/your lord says you've got other things to do? The same one year?

This is correct. But Sapphire ambassador duties don't draw terribly much time from service to your lord. And your lord's commands come first.

And just to answer because someone asked in character. No the sapphire champion doesn't get to boss anyone around (and they are appointed for but a year...of course they're an ambassador too) The Champ's meant to coordinate and organize the spread of art and culture across the Empire.
