[D9 LM] The Cousins' Goodbye (closed, Nade's room)

[Shosuro Hatsuki]

A tap came to the door of Nadeshiko's room, soon followed by a soft voice. "Nadeshiko-san? It's Hatsuki. May I come in?"

[Doji Nadeshiko]

"Oh --" There's a little squeak and clatter, then, "Do come in!" As Hatsuki walks in she finds Nadeshiko righting an overturned writing box, her hand and sleeve (not to mention the table she's sitting at) mussed with ink. She seems nonplussed by it -- in good spirits, in fact. "Good morning, Hatsuki-san, are you well?"

Hatsuki stepped in, holding her own wrapped box and closing the door behind her. "I am. I apologize if I startled you. I brought some snacks, if it helps. Sweets."

There's a warm little sound of acknowledgement; "It's quite alright -- oh, it does! Thank you!" Carefully she gets up to go find an old handkerchief to dab up the ink. Her journal's open: poems have been dutifully written, crossed out, re-written, over and over in an attempt to get something good. At least she didn't upset the teacup and kettle off to the side, too. "Please, make yourself comfortable, I'll be right over Hatsukichi." Oh, she's in a VERY good mood; she hasn't called Hatsuki that since they were children.

"Ah, here we go," She murmurs once she finds what she's looking for. Her hands are wiped clean, then the table. With that done Nadeshiko settles down, all smiles and sunshine. "Sorry to make you wait."

She smiled at the childhood nickname. That was adorable. "What has you in such a good mood today, Nadeshiko-san?"

"I'm hopeful we'll all have good news," She answers honestly. "What kind of sweets have you brought today? Oh -- would you like some tea? It's still hot. Let me get another cup." Again she's up, so energetic, like a little bird, and in a moment a matching teacup is brought out and offered with a sweet smile.

"Well, regardless of the outcome this, I already have some good news," she noted. "Oh, tea would be lovely. Oh, as for the food, manjuu, monaka, and sakuramochi."

[Doji Nadeshiko]

Nadeshiko perks -- "Oh? What is it?" Tea's poured, the woman happily settling in for something very good. That Hatsuki brought sakuramochi... she feels she's being spoiled... and she's quite content to let herself be.

"If a divination is accurate, I am having twins," she replied with a bright smile.

Her eyes open and wide, Nadeshiko practically vibrating with it. "Really? REALLY? You got a -- oh!" She scoots over a bit to look down at Hatsuki's stomach. Two of them... the Crane woman lets out a happy sigh. Twins are perfect. They always have someone to play with. Hopefully they'll be a little less wild than her brothers. "Hatsuki, that's amazing. What a blessing. What a blessing!" With any luck, Choudai's the father. Oh, yes, she wouldn't be so happy if he wasn't -- she hums, smile knowing. "Has he heard the news?"

She smiled and brushed a hand over her stomach. "He will soon. I haven't been able to shut up about it." A soft giggle.

She sighed happily. "They'll probably have an artistic mindset, ne?"
