(D5, ME) Chilling with Chugo

While Otoko had been enjoying the tea of the sunset leaves, today was different. The competition highlight Chugo put her in a more contemplative mood. So unfortunate cat aside, she had a cup of tea poured, and she stared off at the sand considering events thus far.

Sand gardens.

Feh.

Choudai kept his distaste in check as he entered, looked around, and then simply had a seat.

Yoshiaki had been to such meetings before and was nit like to miss one at this rate. He entered and bowed to the two already there.

"Bayushi-san, Shosuro-san. It is good to see you again, I hope things are well." He asked taking a seat.

"Oh, no more disastrous than my usual, Togashi-san. Thinking of writing a few letters home, as it happens."

Otoko bowed as each entered.

"It is a good day to consider such Bayushi-san." she agreed. "Today's competition was an excellent reminder that we are all part of something far larger than ourselves.:

She looked to the Dragon.

"And as the day draws to a close, how does it find you, Togashi-san?" she inquired.

Nadeshiko enters, giving a soft sound (of greeting?) and a bow before finding her seat. Reciting such a long poem had exhausted her... not to mention, now her throat's sore. When the tea arrives she smiles, its scent smoothing her frayed nerves as she settles down. Without thinking she offers her hand to the cat wandering the teahouse.

Hatsuki also finds herself joining with a bow. "Good evening, minna-sama." She finds a seat near Nadeshiko and quietly sips tea.

He smiles, the gesture small and within the boundaries of politeness but there was a warmth to it "Yes it has been quite a good day. I perhaps floundered on the subject and wasted the Crab metaphor early."

As the other two walked in he gave a seated bow "Shosuro-san, Doji-san wonderful to see you again."

At Hatsuki's entrance the wilting flower perks again, and when she sits, Nadeshiko happily scoots a little closer, beaming with pride. They finally acknowledged her! Otoko should be the first to congratulate Hatsuki, but she hopes she can be next in line.

Even these clods couldn't deny it forever. She's perfect.

"You, as well, Togashi-san," she agreed with a small smile.
Realizing herself by Hatsuki's example, Nadeshiko pipes up softly, "And to you, Togashi-san."

Otoko greeted each as they arrived.

"Ah, perhaps Togashi-san. Still, you do face your own challenges when it came to this competition, I think. Most of the artists have the luxury of tailoring their work for the competition." she offered. "Those who work with very temporary artforms, such as the rest gathered here can even alter their presentations based on the environment of the day. However, even with advance notice, I assume that your work was not designed for the competition, but rather curated for it? Given the rather permanent and personal nature of it?" she offered.

Besides which, the judges are never going to give him a fair shake unless everyone else comes down with some sort of hideous disease.

Yoshiaki nodded "Yes I have my own challenges with this competition like many at this table. We are not all conventional artists as the Crane see it." He said

Never one for convention he turned back toward the two most recent arrivals "and I believe congratulations are in order for two of us here. Well done Doji-san and Shosuro-san. Well deserved recognition for both of you."

Otoko nods.

"Indeed. Doji-san I believe is now at the head of the pack to be named champion, and Shosuro-san only a step behind. While there can only be one champion, it's my hope that it is someone at this table....and of course that we stay in touch once the competition concludes." she offered honestly.

"That's my hope as well," Nadeshiko says softly. "Though it would bring me great joy if any of my friends won." Of course the woman cannot forget about Sriyani. A small part of her wishes Minori could have stayed and perhaps been a contender, too.

she nodded to both of them. "Of course, that would be ideal. Naturally, I will do my best to stay in touch regardless of the outcome."

Otoko nods.

"I'm fairly confident that the next one will by in the lands of the Scorpion given all your support....assuming everyone continues their best efforts. So not too long of a journey for most of us." Otoko says with some confidence.
