Tucking his hands into his impeccable sleeves and filling the room with a smile as radiant as an over-indulgent imperial courtier's hair piece, Moshi Tatsuya bowed from a commanding position in the room and awaited Natsujin.

Tucking his hands into his impeccable sleeves and filling the room with a smile as radiant as an over-indulgent imperial courtier's hair piece, Moshi Tatsuya bowed from a commanding position in the room and awaited Natsujin.

Natsujin greeted her guest with a smile and a deep bow.

"Hey, good afternoon, Moshi-sama. You're looking quite well today. How may I assist you?" she offered in a friendly tone.

"Good afternoon, Natsujin-san," Tatsuya said warmly, bowing and then straightening with his smile still radiant. "Might we speak privately? I do not want to distract anyone from enjoying your fine business."

She bowed.

"Of course, this way, Moshi-sama." she offered leading him to a small area in the back. There wasn't much there, most likely primarily serving extra storage for the house, including a place to put the koi food.

Natsujin pulled the curtain closed behind the pair.

"My apologies, Moshi-sama. All the comfortable seating is at the front of the house, but we can talk here."

"This is more than adequate, Natsujin-san. I simply wished to express my admiration for your fine tea house and express my interest in investing in the Waving Grass." The Mantis took two heavy full-koku coins from a pocket in his kimono sleeve and placed them on a shelf beside himself. "I should like to make some business recommendations as well, to capitalize on your successful work so far." His eyes and words unmistakably conveyed that he did not plan to be a silent partner, but there was also no sign of deceit or subterfuge.

The business plan that the young Moshi had prepared for Natsujin's tea house was a credit to his skill and training.

"You're pretty sharp, Moshi-sama. It will be a pleasure working with you, I think." she said, pleased with the Mantis's involvement.

Tatsuya, who had prepared himself for at least a little more obstinance, smiled in a more genuinely warm way.

"I'm very pleased to hear that, Natsujin-san. I shall endeavor to stay out of your way with regard to day-to-day operations and focus my time on ensuring that potential customers make the right choice about which tea house to patronize," he said, a certain mischievousness creeping into his voice and the corners of his smile and eyes. It was perhaps too small of a thing to be identified by a peasant, but it was fairly clear that the Mantis was highly motivated to promote the Waving Grass Tea Room.
