[Day 6, EM] Still a Matsu? (Open-ish)

[Matsu Inori]

Good old practice spear. Companion of her youth.

Thrust. Parry. Move backwards, circle, entrap, Thrust. Pull back, thrust again. Forward. Thrust. Forward.

Sweat beaded on her brow. The day wasn't that warm, really, but one Matsu Inori made sure to warm herself up, plenty. The routine of her old Dojo days - such as it was without instructors or fellow students. Keeping the memories alive, the embers from going out. Practicing Soujutsu, doing Calisthenics.
Memory. Muscle memory. That set of skills written into her very bones from years of hard work in the Dojo.

Thrust. Parry. Move backwards, circle, entrap, Thrust. Pull back, thrust again. Forward. Thrust. Forward.

She exhaled hard. It was unlikely she would ever fight with a line of spearmen, and the one time she should have...she was not ready. And now it seemed like it would not be a thing she should do at all.
