(D3, ME) Private Party (Closed)

(Open to Scorpion, Nadeshiko, Yoshiki, and any others who have dedicated points to Otoko)
Finding the tea rooms simply too noisy for the intimacy of the post competition gatherings that Otoko wished to host, she had requested the use of one of the manor house's rooms for a short time, and the host had granted her that.
the room was small, though richly dedicated with paintings of Cranes in flight. A table had been laid out with tea and light snacks. In the corner, a local geisha strummed softly on a biwa.
Overall, it was quite the calming setting. Perhaps no others would show up, artists living their hectic lives, but any who did would surely find the scene relaxing.

Given the way Choudai's day had begun, he was a bit subdued as he made his way into the manor house.
Still, he appreciated the decor.
"Shosuro-san, how good to see you again. I trust the day finds you well?"

Ootoko bowed to her fellow Scorpion.
"It does, Bayushi-san. I hope it finds you in good spirits as well." she offered politely.

"As good as can be hoped for, Shosuro-san."
Fuck my life, and most especially fuck the idiot living it.
"I confess, I had grown accustomed to the Sunset Leaves, but these surroundings are certainly more elegant."

"Oh I agree that the Sunset Leaves is an excellent meeting location. But it's a little more....open than I was hoping to experience. I had hoped to touch base with those who were supporting my efforts, rather than say...entertain random Otomo or coffee-slinging monks." she explained.
"I suppose some people just don't undertand when they're not wanted somewhere."

"Monks..."
Choudai grimaced.
"... I'm not enamored of them at the best of times, and this town seems to be nearly overrun with them. Have you run into Busubi the groundskeeper yet, perchance?"

Otoko shakes her head at the mention of the groundskeeper.
"I can't say that I have Bayushi-san. I assume by your tone he is not the next coming of Shinsei." she offers, interested in the Bayushi's experiences.

"Not to be trusted. Potentially dangerous."
He frowned.
"Knew things he shouldn't, but not as much as he thought."

"Hmmm, I see." Otoko said, considering the news for a moment. "I will admit, having someone run around with knowledge they shouldn't have for unknown reasons is certainly not ideal."

"Fools who know too much are indeed dangerous", Ameiko agreed as she entered the room. "Good evening, mina-sama", she said and bowed, then placed her blades at the door and moved to sit down.

"Ameiko-san."
He bowed to the new arrival.
"In any event, I am uncertain of how much attention this matter really merits, but my experience with the man was not the sort to ignore entirely."

Likely to Choudai's dismay he would yet again be subjected to the presence of another monk.
Yoshiaki walked into the room and bowed to those present "Good evening everyone. It is good to see you all again." Those silver eyes looked about the room before returning to Otoko
"You have chosen an excellent location for this meeting. Perfect ambiance." He said nodding to Otoko "I hope yesterday's sparring did not leave you sore Shosuro-san." He said as he took a spot at the table taking a sip of tea.

Hatsuki entered, looking considerably more tired than the day before, but offering the group a pleasant smile as she arrived. "Greetings, everyone. I hope your day is going well."
She found a seat herself, as well.

Otoko welcomed the remaining guests as they came in.
"Thank you all for coming. I realize that you have many opportunities to tend to your own affairs while you are in town, but I do enjoy these opportunities to catch up with all of you, and share our insights of the day with each other. Please, help yourself to the food and drink and let us speak of a day of courage." she offered.

"And I'm sorry, but the fugu is all disposed of now, so you'll have to do without."

"And a shame that is, senpai", Ameiko said. "So since yesterday, what are everyone's thoughts on the competition? For myself I think the grouped way of displaying everyone's work is interesting, and has it's merits, but I do feel any performing arts are treated as background noise and that displays of art seem to catch more notice." she shrugged slightly. "though a stage doesn't do particularly well to place a painting on it in silence, and then remove it, I admit."

"It does seem that the more ephemeral arts are given short shrift in terms of the display."
He shrugged.
"Something we'll have to work on when we host."

Otoko nods.
"It doesn't take too much of an appreciation of the arts to appreciate the impossibility of comparing one style of art to another." she agrees. "I believe the Crane tried to balance their choices as much as they could on the first day. One Crane with a very traditional form of art and a Mantis with a much more....unique display. Balanced in someways...but perhaps not in others."

"They didn't make for a poor solution", Ameiko said. "Though as senpai said, it is something to consider for the future."
