Busubi bowed in return.
"Enjoy the water, sunflower-san, you will see your beloved Sun again soon." he said, his words a bit lost in the rain as he made his way to wherever monks went.

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
snip "Somehow, I think you mean more than actual roots again," she says with a smile. "But if you are interested in actually hearing from the earth underfoot anyplace in particular," she spreads her hands out held low, long sleeves shedding rain as they follow the motion, "I'd be pleased to assist....

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
“Hmmm, yes, those water lilies, distant perfection.” She grins, “hard to relate.” “If we’re getting to turns on the wheel though… well, might be talking about a whole other set of things. Flowers can be symbols, but symbols are kind of imperfect if you try running them too deep, neh?” Wiggling soak...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
Busubi also looked up at the rain, an amused look on his face. "A sunflower that dreams of being a rose? " he ponders. "Or perhaps that is simply another turn upon the wheel. A sunflower reborn as or perhaps from a rose. At least it's not a water lily. No worry for water, but only ever admired from ...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
snip Head tilted with a bemused smile, Sriyani drops her gaze from the clouds, blinking drops from her eyes. "Ah, it's not that I despise the mud. Just walking in it. Makes a mess of my socks and it's a bit of a slog. My home's too involved in growing things to hate the mud...or even the, hmm...fer...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
She chuckles taking the sturdy hat off to pass over. "Suppose this _is_ a timely example of sincerity." The rustling cloak is next. "But not art, all on its own." She tips her face up to the rain with a small jingle amid the patter of drops. "Also a reminder that I kept meaning to get a proper coat...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
"Honored to meet you Busubi-san. As you've noted, I'm Horiuchi, specifically Sriyani of Small Creek Village." She considers a moment. "Perhaps I ought to offer the cloak instead, if I'm hoping to give something that might keep you warm enough to ward off a cold. Am I breaking the forms too much to ...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
She offers a bow of greeting as her path brings her near. "Good morning, monk-san." After a small pause, she adds, "It seems...a bit like closing the stable doors after the mares have all run out, but...if you'd like a hat against the rain, you're welcome to mine." The monk bowed in return. "Perhap...

Re: (D8, LM) Walking a sand road in the rain
At least she had the straw hat, not to mention hair beneath the hat. There was a monk, notable for the bald hair also was watching the patterns being wiped away by the rain. He was also very soaked, apparently having been out there for the whole morning.

"I hope your wait behind the rainbow is not too long, Shosuro-sama." he offered as a farewell.

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
"This conversation certainly went somewhere, though I'm not entirely sure where we've ended up," she mused. "What were you cleaning before, by the way? I didn't see anything to sweep." After all the discussion, she felt a little more comfortable asking potentially impolite questions. Busubi nods. A...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
She actually had some thoughts about that. "I would hope the tortoise decided to come for me. If I was lettuce, it seems prefer to nourish something else than just eventually rot in the ground." Busubi nods. "Everything must follow it's nature," he agrees. "whether it's a sage or a sunflower."

"I don't know. Is the journey just to find out if the lettuce is there? If that's the case, it seems like a lot of risk," she shrugged. "If the lettuce is important for some reason, that's something else."
"Ah, but what if you are the Sage, Shosuro-sama?" he further inquired.

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
"How do we know he didn't do any or all of those things on the way to the lettuce?" she asked. "The story was a bit light on details, and there's really nothing stopping him. I would posit that he had to take a least a few breaks, and even eat and drink other things before he got there." Busubi smi...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
Busubi clapped his hands together. "Indeed! Or perhaps the sage was just lonely and wanted to have a long conversation with the tortoise? Also, consider what the tortoise could have done. He could have had a long conversation with the sage, he could have napped in the forest, rolled down the hills, ...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
He really does like tortoise metaphors, huh? She looked down, though, and sincerely thought about what was being said. "Hmm... I don't usually hear an ending where the tortoise is right in this kind of endeavor often." Busubi grinned. "Ah, but was he, Shosuro-sama? Was the lettuce that the tortoise...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
The monk halted his seemingly pointless sweeping, and offered her a bow of the right depth, and a smile that was perhaps a bit too wide. "A pleasure to meet you, Shosuro-sama. I am Busubi. I am well, but you seem to not be. Perhaps a conversation with someone uninvolved and unimportant would be hel...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
She paused at the odd display. In a way, one could see it as some sort of weird statement. Cleaning that which is already clean... or sweeping at dirt that will never be clean in the first place do to its nature. She'd been looking at too much art lately. "Good afternoon, monk-san," she greeted in ...

Re: [D4 EA] Ring Ring, Are the Fortunes Home?
Hatsuki had gotten up after finally getting some damned sleep, heading straight for the shrine. She probably should have stayed to have breakfast, for her child's sake if not her own, but there were too many things, both mundane and spiritual, to sort through. Rinse hands. Coin in the box. Two bows...
