Seeing demonstrations proceeding, the Akuba counter begins ticking away again...

She considers the one display for some time, tapping her chin with a closed fan.

"A simple thing, certainly. But so much can be said for many things, as has been shown."

She looks to her husband.

Having recovered from his previous illness, Hyoukasha returns to the gallery with his wife, ready for another day of judging.

Notably, Akuba hangs closer to her husband today than previous days, her eyes as much on him as on the artworks.

With the placement of another piece, Akuba moves to examine it.

"A day late," she says, "however well executed."

And then she looks to see if more is forthcoming.

Akuba watches another performance.

When it is done, she but shakes her head slightly.

And she moves on to see if any others will grace the gathering today.

Another exhibition, another comment from Akuba.

"At least there's no fishing pole fight in it," she says, and moves on.

Akuba presses on in her husband's absence.

Pausing at another painting, she remarks "Few will miss the metaphor, though it must be wondered who struggles so with such a thing."

And then she looks at another piece. "It would be difficult to handle this, I think," is her comment about it.

Looking at the next display, Akuba comments "Sunlight would darken such a canvas did it meet it much or often."

She walks on, looking over the next. "Organic," she says.

Akuba considers the next presentation.

"Improved," she says of it. "And adequate."

Seeing the next, she adds "Coming clean is always good."

She walks directly past the next exhibit, ignoring it.

Akuba considers the first exhibit of the day.

"It is good to see an honest self-appraisal," she says of it. "Would that others saw themselves so clearly."

Moving to observe the second, she notes "Grey is a good color for this presenter. The unpressed cloth is also apropos."

Akuba, awaiting exhibits, sighs slightly as Kojiro descends.

Her fan rises to cover her lips.

He merely nodded in acknowledgement of the Scorpion's flute playing before moving on.

Akuba moves on, considering for some time.

"Quite detailed," she admits.

"But a story too heavily embellished makes one wonder what is being obscured."

"The question about whether cooking is an art resurfaces to my mind. This seems less about the food and more about the performance." was his assessment.

Akuba proceeds to the next.

"How quaint" is all she says of it.
